Volunteering
Our volunteers are at the heart of our work. They help welcome people, support our team and extend the reach of our services to those who need them most.
You do not need specialist experience.
What matters is kindness, patience and a willingness to learn.
Volunteering can help you:
- Build confidence and new skills
- Meet people and feel part of the community
- Support those facing difficult circumstances
- Make a genuine difference to someone’s day
What we offer
We offer training, guidance and ongoing support, and we welcome volunteers from all walks of life.
If you have specialist skills in areas such as
- Marketing
- Fundraising
- Debt advice
- Legal knowledge
- ...or similar experience that can help our users
We’d love to hear from you.
If you would like to explore volunteering with us, please get in touch, and we can talk through where you might feel most comfortable.
Job opportunities
When paid roles become available, they will appear here.
Working with us means joining a team that listens carefully, treats people with dignity and offers support during some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
Partnerships with Organisations
We work closely with charities, statutory services, schools, legal teams, housing providers, food banks and many other community organisations.
Strong partnerships allow us to reach more people, respond sooner and offer more specialised support when needed.
Working with us can help your organisation:
- Support service users more effectively
- Reduce pressure on frontline teams
- Improve outcomes for people facing hardship
- Strengthen community wellbeing
- Contribute to your social value goals
If your organisation would like to explore partnership opportunities, we are always happy to discuss how we can work together.
Fundraising and Events
You can support us by organising or joining a fundraising event. This could be a community activity, a workplace challenge or a sponsored event.
Your support helps us provide free, independent advice to people who may have nowhere else to turn.
We also work with businesses looking to support local charities through sponsorship, hosted events or staff fundraising. If your organisation has Corporate Social Responsibility commitments, we can help you create meaningful community impact.
If you would like to organise a fundraiser or find out more about getting involved, please contact us.
Helping Hands Business Club
Our monthly Business Club brings together local charities and businesses to share ideas, build connections and strengthen our community.
When local organisations thrive, the whole community benefits.
With thanks to our sponsors
